Three dirty grungy strawberries fill this old basket that I
found at a thrift store. The berries are made from
cotton calico fabrics and measure 4" and 5". The caps
are made from wool felt and they have been heavily aged with
a mix of coffee and vanilla then rubbed with spices.
The basket is lined with a crocheted vintage doily and
sprinkled among the berries are some old sewing notions and
a skeleton key. 1 available

I love to
quilt and recently stumbled upon a technique called paper or
foundation piecing with which I wasn't previously familiar.
The pattern is copied onto paper and the fabric pieces are
actually sewn to the paper along the guidelines. The
pieced top is folded and trimmed and then the paper is
removed and the result is a perfectly pieced design. I
turned these two squares into little pillows. They're
sewn up from cotton calico prints on a background of
tea-stained muslin. The pillows are backed with the
same fabric as the borders on the fronts. For a bit
more of a prim look I added Tin-tiques rusty stars and
moons. They have a bit of a northwoodsy feel about
them. The pillows measure about 6" square and these
two will come as a set.
